Shenkar - Engineering. Design. Art.

Nomadic human populations that live near Taninim Stream.

Inspired by the reptilian skin, Second Skin is a protective layer designed by the nomads to shield nomadic species from extreme heat and direct exposure to the sun. The material Second Skin is made of mimics the keratin scale structures reptiles use to help regulate their body temperature.

This new technology is highly scalable and can be used to cover anything from tiny creatures to large community buildings and infrastructure. Lightweight, durable and malleable, Second Skin is a game changer in the field of energy-efficient sun-and-heat protection solutions.
